2010 Timberline Klondike - Retro
Troop 554 and the Running Antelope Chapter of the Order of the Arrow invite you to take part in the 2010 Timberline District Klondike to be held February 19-21, 2010. The Klondike will take place at Reverend’s Ridge Campground in Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
The theme for this years Klondike is “Klondike Derby RETRO!”. Scouts will participate in a series of events to test their resolve and increase patrol spirit.
On Saturday morning Patrols will travelthe Klondike Trail and encounter events requiring Scout skills andcreativity. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded based on Patrol performance and total points awarded in the both the morning and afternoon events.
As in last year, Troops after registering will be able to pre-select their campsite at the Roundtables prior to the Klondike. This will expedite the arrival process. Review the map on page 8 of the Leader Guide.
Winter camping is one of the most challenging of the outdoor adventures. The 2010 Klondike will provide opportunities for Scouts to test their preparation and skills, and build confidence in their ability to be prepared for successful camping in cold weather.Scouts unable to camp overnight are encouraged to participate in Saturday’s program.
It is our intention to offer a quality Scouting program for all Scouts taking advantage of this opportunity. Come enjoy a visit to the Klondike and be prepared to test yourselves in a challenging environment. A special patch and other awards will be presented to every participant.
Periodic updated information will be posted here. We look forward to seeing you at the Klondike!

2009 Fall Join Night
The Council wide Join night is Thursday, September 10, 2009. Packs should plan on this night for one of their join nights this Fall. To help get ready for this there are two information/training meetings:
Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 7:00 PM there will be a "HOW TO" training for the 2009 Join Night. It will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9227 W Dartmouth Place. This is the same location as our monthly Roundtables. Every Cub Scout Pack needs to have at least one volunteer at this very important meeting.
Thursday, August 13, 2008 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM please pick up your flyers, posters, stickers, yard signs and all other promotional material you will need for your join night. Please have one adult from your unit drop by 9227 W Dartmouth Place. The District Committee and District Commissioners will be holding an open house during this time and would like to share with your Pack volunteers the volunteer opportunities available to them both in the District and Council.
To order flyers, please click here for the Join Night Order Form. Make sure to contact your Timberline District Staff, Davis Fox or Jason Mercado, if you are interested in having a Professional help out with Fall Recruitment. We are available to help with Boy Talks, deliver fliers, and help with Join-Nights!
If you have questions or need help with your join nights, please contact Davis Fox 720.266.2133 or Jason Mercado 303.266.2146.
Shoot for the Stars!
The 2009 Timberline Fall Camporee will be held September 25-27, 2009 at the Ben Lomond Gun Club. See the Planning Packet for all the details and register your unit at Fall Camporee Registration.
Our goal is to make sure that you - Scouts, Scouters, Webelos and Parents– enjoy a weekend full of fun recreational shooting.
Most of the activities will be themed around one of the BSA-approved shooting sports. Shooting sports are some of the most challenging and fun of the outdoor adventures. The 2009 Fall Camporee will allow Scouts to test their shooting skills and learn some new ones. Ranges will be set up for .22 rifle, shotgun, muzzle loading, archery and tomahawk in addition to some special events. We will also have BB guns, archery and tomahawk available for Webelos.
The facilities for the Camporee can only accommodate 500 participants. Registration is limited to Timberline District units until September 1, at which time registration will be available to units from other districts. Ensure your unit’s participation by registering early.
For additional information and to volunteer to help with the 2009 Fall Camporee, please contact Jim Cathcart.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you at the 2009 Fall Camporee!
